Where does something go when it’s gone?
Can you conjure up something you miss?
How do you cope when you can’t?

Dear audience, welcome to the Paper Circus! Six performers are waiting in the wings, ready for the grand spectacle to begin. The weightlifter gives his muscles one last warm-up, the horse trainer quickly peels a carrot. The magician vacuums his hat. A mysterious, uninvited figure quietly slips inside.

BUT…

Suddenly, the horse is missing its tail. One of the heavy weights has vanished from the weightlifter’s barbell. The magician’s assistant is walking on just one heel. And when the magic disappearing cabinet remains empty, the circus show turns into a full-blown search.
With a little help from an unexpected source, the performers try to come to terms with the emptiness, their feelings and each other. They look for ways to offer comfort, to play again, to find music in their sadness.

What can you build to give your sense of loss a place?

In REUSkleuter, professional actors and performers from Het Scheldeoffensief enter the circus ring together. With few words and plenty of imagination, they build a paper world where anything can disappear, change and reappear.
